A-List Musicians are Taking Note of The SandboxĪlthough Slipknot is the first heavy metal band to build on The Sandbox, plenty of other musicians are involved with this metaverse. Heavy metal fans can learn more about Knotverse on the domain “ knotverse.io.” Fans could also join the Knotverse Discord for the latest details on metaverse experiences and NFTs. Slipknot also teased future collaborations, but it only said that fans should “expect the unexpected.” At the end of its Knotverse roadmap, Slipknot said it will use a voting system so NFT holders could shape the future course of its metaverse. The Knotverse website says some NFT holders could win VIP tickets, NFT airdrops, and rare merchandise. People who own a Knotverse NFT will be eligible for numerous perks both within and outside of the metaverse. There will also be a generative NFT art collection and standalone Slipknot NFTs. Afterward, Slipknot plans to release a Knotfest Festival Collection, which appears to feature NFTs inspired by historic Knotfest ads. The first batch of Knotverse NFTs is called “My Legacy - The Clown Collection,” and it’s set to drop on April 22nd on OpenSea. The Knotverse roadmap also shows four upcoming NFT drops. Slipknot also said it would grant VIP experiences and merchandise to fans involved in its new Knotverse community. The official Knotverse roadmap features plans for dozens of meetup opportunities, video games, and live events within the metaverse. Knotverse will also tie in with Slipknot’s famous music festival Knotfest. Slipknot calls its new Web3 project “Knotverse,” and it intends to use its new virtual space to help global heavy metal fans interact. According to a recent press release, the American band closed a deal with The Sandbox to develop interactive experiences on virtual LAND parcels. but to hear people complain, you would think thats all we get.Slipknot is bringing its masks and metal music into the metaverse. It's not like free roamers are the only games you are getting, we are getting lots of good looking games from every genre. I put it to you then, because GTA opened the door, it doesnt mean they are the only ones who can walk through it. Other games like Dead Rising too look to add great spins on the free roam genre.Īnd for all it's faults, TCNY was a perfect replica of New York and one of the only game worlds that truly felt alive, much like san andreas but on a smaller scale. Just Cause also looks amazing, as does The Outsider. Mercenaries was a fantastic free roam war game, Hulk and Spiderman were free roamers that merged superheroes with a genre that fit them like a glove. Sure, GTA came first, but does that mean only the innovator can use its own innovation? It equals freedom and fun, and allows you to pursue the main game at your own pace and it equals hours of fun. It would be like saying Lost Boys is a rip off of Nosferatu, as that was the first movie (or one of) to use vampires. Thats fair, in a way.but thats because GTA was being the first to do so. But I also notice no one bashes rpgs, or fps or whatever for being in their own genre. People are saying its been over used, blah blah blah. I have noticed a lot of people bash the sand box/ free roaming genre.
